It is what we do!

Cysteine Systems began amino-acid research in 2005, focused on the production and death of DNA and RNA in the individual cell.  In simple terms, our hypothesis:  Shortening of the telomeres region of the DNA strand leads to cell death; reducing or stopping this loss will result in extended life of the organisim.  A subset to this hypothesis was the idea that, although replication of DNA results in a continual and gradual loss of the telemorese base pairs, in fact the prevelance (or lack thereof) of per-oxides in the cell is a much more significant, and therefore, primary cause of telomeres attrition.  Also known as oxidative stress, our secondary hypothesis follows on the research of Professor Thomas von Zglinicki of New Castle University (Zglinicki et al, Human cell senescence as a DNA damage response, 2005.)

We are currently conducting trials in the use of Carnitine and Glutathione to interfere with the oxidation levels in cells.  Traditionally, absorbtion of Cysteine, Carnitine, and Glutathione has been a challenge (in varying degrees); we are attempting a different delivery methodology to bring higher concentrations (and therefore a lower initial delivery amount) to trial participants.
